This site only has reviews on Pentax Lenses. So it won't help you with your Tokina.

You are clearly something of an optimist.I've looked on dpreview and can't find what I'm looking for.

This other Pentax site has reviews for Pentax and a few other brands of lenses. Unfortunately although it lists your lens, there are no reviews. The Tokina page is here: http://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/showcat.php?cat=78

Sadly, there are not many sites that carry reviews of older lenses by third-party makers, unless they happen to be classics. I suppose there just isn't much interest in them (both the lenses and, therefore, the reviews).
Old zooms tend to be out-classed by new ones, unless they were exceptional - like the original Vivitar Series One range. So, if you can't find out anything about the Tamron, it's a reasonable bet that it's not particularly special.
The various Pentax 28-105 zooms are pretty good, and are likely to be rather better than the Tokina for not a huge amount more money.

Don't forget the sister site to this one
www.photodo.com
which has tests and reviews of lots of older lenses from all manufacturers.

I have just bought a Tokina 28-105 for a realy good price and although heavy seems to be what I'm loking for as a general walk about lens. I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on this lens and any known issues with it's performance.
