Lens release on K5

The lens release button had disappeared from my K5, so at the moment I am stuck using just my DA 16-45mm, which is on the camera. I am going on holiday tomorrow, to Morocco and then Sri lanka, so the timing is not very good! Anyone any ideas how I can release the lens so I can use more than the one lens? I will have to send the camera back when to the UK when I get back from holiday, but if anyone has any ideas for a temporary fix I'd appreciate it.

looking at the release mechanism it seems to be as straight forward as depressing the button moves the locking pin in the same direction. Is it not possible to try a match or similar into the hole and see if you can still move the pin?

Either end of a Jeppesen Fuel Tester. You're bound to have that on you!

Thanks for the suggetions; I have found two solutions, an allen key and some rivets. The rivets are exactly the right size, but the allen key is now attached to my camera bag with a carbiner! Vey annoying, I will ahve to send the camera back to the UK when I get back from holiday.

Your far from alone with this one. Mine sprung off too, luckily it was while in the house so I didn't lose it. Just under 2 weeks absence for the repair.

Mine has not come off. However it does not feel as secure as the ones on the K20 or K200. Is it a common fault?

Can anyone say what happens to make these buttons come off ? is it when changing lenses or just anytime ?. Anything to take more care with ?

I think mine disppeared while changing lenses, though I am not sure. It just wasn't there when I wanted to change a lens. The logistics of getting my camera back to the Uk and then back to Doha mean I may be without a camera for a while, which is very annoying. I will however try and get the electronic level fixed at the same time. Off to Sri Lanka tomorrow with a pocketful of rivets!
