i like the idea of haveing the all in 1 as it eliminates the need for lens changes etc i think its going to be a case of just testing the lenses on the camera and seeing how they feel and go from there,but it looks from the reviews its the tamron or the pentax lens i will be getting

The 18-270 is not available in a Pentax fit version yet (from what I can see), and the 28-300 hardly provides wide angle on digital so certainly doesn't qualify as an "all round lens".

There is no one lens that really does everything. You might want wider than 18mm, or longer than 250mm, or a larger maximum aperture. That's why I say don't rush into it until you know a bit more about what exactly you want.

all tamron lenses, and this was a test on alot of lenses not just tamrons and the 18-270 is only cannon and nikon, at the mo. and the 28-300mm is not the widest but still has a wide view but gives extra focal lenght for wildlife,

28mm on digital is just slightly wide of "standard". Foxycee is interested in "a wide aspect of photography from landmarks portraits and travel/safari" and wants an "all round lens". 28mm isn't wide enough for a lot of landmarks and landscapes etc.
28-300mm is an all round lens on film, not digital.

Foxycee, a 28-300 isn't an all round lens on digital.
I sometimes use a 28mm prime lens as a standard lens on digital. It's not wide enough for a lot of landmarks and buildings etc.

i agree with you iceblinker that it is not wide enough for landscape,
but 28mm is still clast as wide angle,

ok going to get the tamron i think and have found it for £169.99 online comparde to my local shop they have it up there for a massive mark up for the same lens
