Thanks Steve ! I was using the DA*300 for the vast majority and the Sigma 50-150 for the others.

You're right about #1. It is (by normal measures) out of focus because the 'standard' rule is to focus on the nearest pupil.
But in this case it works extremely well. It somehow adds an intimacy that would not be there otherwise.

No I am still kicking myself for not taking more shots to make certain I hit focus on the eyes (but he moved off quickly so ...), as you can see at that distance with a 300mm there is only a few mms to play with. The fingers look good though
