Layout of uploaded pics query.

Well, I finally ventured onto the dreaded DIGITAL bit ! Had alook at some posts; can't understand the lingo on most ! Anyway, having found out how to upload pics from another 'host' site I wonder how you can put the vertical ones side-by-sidethus saving space on the upload. When I click in 'copy'and 'paste' into this site the technical stuff goes right across and I can't find a way to type in words on the side or to put the pics two across if you see what I mean .

You won't "save space on the upload" by having photographs horizontal rather than verical - the same amount of data has to be transferred regardless.

To seperate out your image from text try it like this:-




1/125 sec @ F8 4000mm FAJ lens

[img] http://mywebsite.com/images/sample1.jpg [img]

1/60 sec @ F11 50mm smc 1:1.7 lens

I have deliberately put spaces so we can see the code in the img lines.

Does that make sense?

When I created the example above, I did not realise that there was a real website called "mywebsite.com" that was only supposed to be an example of the code!

The code [img ]http://www.ammonyte.plus.com/images/wellpacked.jpg[ /img] (without the spaces inside the [] brackets) produces this:-




If I wanted to create a link to that image i would use "url" in place of "img", so that
[url ]http://www.ammonyte.plus.com/images/wellpacked.jpg[ /url] without the spaces gives this:-

http://www.ammonyte.plus.com/images/wellpacked.jpg

Tim: No, it doesn't quite answer my query. What I was asking was how to use the waste white space to the right of a vertical uploaded image, instead of the caption details going underneath as usual. I want a way to put the WORDS in the waste space on the right and the vertical image on the left.

this board uses a code called BB code, and it doesn't have the functionality to do this.. at least it's not been set up by the admin team.

You could always, design the image to contain a text box to the right of the image, and then upload it as a complete image.

If you were doing this for a website, then are a couple of different ways using either HTML or CSS coding. If it is for a website, ask further and I'll go through it with you.
