Lanzarote skies

I love those big big skies ! Best for me are 3, 4 and 6. (I'd give a bit more shadow raising on the foreground in No 3). No 3 has that enticing land detail in the far distance, and lots of depth. 4 has great side-light adding texture and contrast to the ground, and the wave splash is well timed.
I think the warm colour balance works best in No6 .... on Nos 1 & 7 there's a sort of tobacco tone in the clouds which doesn't seem to match up with the colour temperature generally, so I'd probably try and pull it back out to grey. No 8 has an odd greeny hue ... could be caused by the backlight but it looks off in colour temperature terms.
Thanks for showing the big skies of the Canaries

Thanks, Nigel, I thought you would be one the skies would appeal to.
One of the things that struck me most was how the colours changed so much depending on the cloud cover, angle of the sunlight etc. I think this is illustrated to some extent in the ones you mention. In 1, 7 and 8, the light reflected from the land (or sea) affects the hue in the clouds above, particularly in 8, where there was a really strong feeling of the heaviness of the cloud cover at the time. It was the constant changing of the cloud cover in the often quite strong winds that made the skies so fascinating to observe and try to capture.
Thanks as always for your constructive comments.
