In the Otway Ranges of Western Victoria. We did an evening guided canoe tour spotting for platypus here (saw some too, but some way off and just a ripple on the surface).

Not a sound, quite still except for the canoes. Very serene. Walked back to civilisation on a bush track through rainforest, with just a torch.

What a wonderful place. Pity the light was so flat. I love those old tree trunks in the water.

Fabulous place, it's hard to imagine such quiet over here as we're never too far from "civilisation"

#1 is simply stunning - the reflections and the colour shadings - really beautiful

Trust you to come up with this one Smeg! Actually, it was pristine, likely because you actually have to carry everything in, rather than just turf it out of the car window.
