I was close enough to use the Tamron 90, as thats what I had on.

We were having a coffee at a local national park when it ambled along.

Gareth - if you were looking down on a goanna, the first thing he would do is think, "Hmm, that's a tree' - and climb straight up your leg. No kidding. Safest place to be is below them - although not directly, as they'll puke down on you if they think they're under threat. Not pleasant.
