These are very appealing, I never really considered Knaresborough for winter photography, its usually sunny when I visit and I have to follow the wife around the charity shops before finally getting to snap the bridge and come home

Hi Alan - yes I am old enough but I only moved here a few years ago when I got married. My wife is a local and she has told me a few stories about it. Are you old enough to remember the Zoo Carl?
The trees in the first shot are more or less where the zoo used to be - Conningham Hall

Carl,
Nice photos.
I remember visiting the zoo just before it closed. There were very large snakes that seemed to be squashed into small glass tanks. I am glad the zoo closed.
I like walking down by the river and looking for the carved medieval stones that have been reused in house and garden walls.

I particularly like the Viaduct, it just shows how the right light really lifts a picture.

Yes, nice place. Not that grim up North, is it? The viaduct is a lovely study.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Andrew,
It's very grim up here.
I have keep saying this to put off the southern settlers. They keep taking our land, houses and introducing fancy ideas like latte coffee and Waitrose We like our space and freedom to move!

Great shots. You've made the best of some excellent light.

I hate processing George and do as little as possible. Although I too do frequently make some minor tweeks to exposure etc - but if an image needs more than this - it generally gets deleted. The light you've captured makes this series for me - the lens you've used has done a great job with it too.
