Karting Shots

I've just been through the remainder of the few karting shots I took yesterday. They're probably a bit over processed for some tastes but I've always struggled to get many pleasing shots at karting tracks due to the usually scruffy surroundings and general clutter, so I wanted to try and do something a bit different this time. I managed to find a bit of ground where I could shoot low through a teasel bush in the foreground with the intention of accentuating the speed of the karts. All were taken with the K20D and 55-300, C&C welcomed as always.

Of the three, I think the first one gives quite a decent impression of speed, with the driver leaning into the bend, and at this size at least, the kart itself is reasonably sharp.

To my eye, it would be better if the kart was angled a bit towards the camera rather than away, but I realise it's not easy. I don't have any experience at all of photographing auto racing, so I'm just giving my impression.

The bush in the foreground is just a distraction, though, I'm afraid. The 'good' blur in shots like this comes from the track and the background. Anything else just, erm, gets in the way.

I have to agree with Chris, I'm afraid. Number one would be a cracker..if it wasn't for the bush.
In fact, I'm quite jealous of your panning!

I like the idea of number 2, but something doesn't seem quite right to me. I think maybe a little forearm in shot might of helped.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys
