K7 Warranty

Hey there, a few of you may remember a topic I posted in mid November when I received my brand new K7.

I've been pretty busy since then and on viewing the box contents had overlooked the warranty somewhat (what can I say, I was excited). Anyway, the other week I discovered that the warranty requires a stamp from the retailer, however I bought mine from Amazon. I tried finding a number for Pentax UK but I've been hampered by a lack of internet connection at the moment. I'm pretty worried about this, I'd rather not have a red face if something that should be covered by the warranty goes wrong, can anybody shed some light on my options?

P.S. I've had a great time with the camera thus far - nice image quality, easy to use, sturdy build. It feels like a real workhorse!

Thanks,

Alex.
I love cameras, a lot still to learn!

Pentax warranty repairs ask for proof of purchase e.g. a photocopy of the original invoice. Failing that you have normal consumer rights which make the retailer responsible for defective goods.

There are advantages in buying from a Pentax Pro dealer as they give a two year warranty instead of the usual stingy Pentax 1 year.

You do not need a stamp from the dealer, the "sale of Goods" Act et al covers you.
