K7 - is this a fault?

After a u/s front e-dial and a jammed AFS/C/MF switch as faults within 4 months I'm a bit suspicious of things with my now 6 month old K7.
So, I've just noticed that whilst the Instant Review is on, if I turn the rear e-dial to the right it locks the camera into review mode until I half press the shutter. Moving the e-dial to the left, or moving the front e-dial has no effect.
I noticed this recently when wanting to adjust the Fstop immediately after one shot, while my subject was still in place.
Is this normal?

I can't really follow the rest of your story but this part is normal but the instant review should go away after a certain time, you can set it to 1, 3 or more second in the menu, does this happen or not?

Welcome to the forum btw.

If you move the edial to the right during instant review it zooms in to the image, on my K7. Then you are in review mode until you half press the shutter. I have always thought this was normal, and it seems logical.

If you start zooming in to the image, it's natural to assume you don't want to come out of review mode until you choose to.

I presume there's a setting for that. I'm going to look to see if you can stop the edial being used in this waybecause actually this behaviour sometimes annoys me too! [Edit - no you can't it seems!]

On my K-7 the rear dial turned to the right zooms-in on the review picture, and you're right it will not go away until you half press the shutter or press OK.

Have a look at p68 of the manual.
Lurking is shirking.!

Yes, I suppose it does make sense to be able to zoom in at that time - I hadn't thought of that. For me, the simplest answer is to switch the Instant Review off if I feel it's going to get in the way of what I'm doing and switch it on again later.
Thanks to you all for your help.

I always use the view button instead of the instant review, i find it quite annoying that the screen turns on during shooting...
