Today, I took my little one (just over 3) to Chester Zoo, and as you can imagine definitely not the best case to test my newly received Sigma 18-35/1.8. However, I have to say I am impressed with this lens and I don't regret choosing it over 20-40. Not best samples here, but some with crop to show the sharpness, and others to show the bokeh.

They look good for me and I think this is a better lens than 20-40 in terms of edge to edge sharpness. Any issues with focusing? Pity it is so heavy. I am hoping to try one in the near future to see how well I can cope with it.

So far I haven't got any focusing issues yet. Quiet and quick. I know it is big but really can't complain about it because of 1.8 constant aperture to give you a bit idea, I think it is about the same size as DA 200/2.8.
