Use manual settings or set the approriate menu item to "release priority" instead of "focus priority".

Focus is fine (2m) its just that the time is so long due to the high aperture.also make sure your not to close to focus.

Tried this one as well but it still refuses to fire. I guess John's tip is the best one (I was looking for this setting anyway plus the setting where it allows me to use my M42 lenses with the manual adaptor) but the book is this big I can not find it in a quick way, hence the question where it is sitting in the menu.Try focusing on the edge of the paper before cafrefully re-composing the shot. you will obviously have to keep the focus locked by holding the shutter release half pressed.

If your doing the test to see if there are marks on the sensor
it would probably be better out of focus.... i.e. focus set at
infinity.... you don't want to pick up any marks on the paper.
I've not got a K-5 but I presume you have to set it to MF.

Errm, No I did not. Good idea (stupid me) but it should not pick anything up from the paper as the shake would show this. All the faults where pretty clear so with the shake of the hand shot it should not matter, but it will not hurt to see if that would overcome the fire blocking.If your doing the test to see if there are marks on the sensor

I know this is a settings issue but could someone just walk me trough it where in the settings I can tell the camera to fire even if the picture may not be sharp or the exposure may be wrong or too long.
I try to see if my sensor has the problems and try to shoot a white paper with a pre-set f22 on AV. I get an exposure of 3seconds with ISO 800 but the camera refuses to fire.
Any chance someone can tell me where I set the settings for ignoring the warnings?
