K5 sharpness settings

I wanted to see if I could find any difference in the sharpness settings. So I took 4 pictures with K5 M100 macro F4. Zoomed 10x in live view and used 3 sec timer.

How do you get the pictures to expand in this site instead of them opening up a new tab.

You can't, the forum software has limitations.

If you want to explore sharpening, which is a huge subject, then I can recommend Martin Evening's books on Photoshop. There are lots of different approaches depending on subject and image size.

Sharpening is best done in Photoshop (or a similar program) but a small amount in the camera is OK, I would suggest +1.

Out-of-camera sharpening techniques aside, this is a fairly poor subject image with which to compare the sharpness levels.

It basically has one and only one in-focus contrast transition that sharpening would do anything much with.

Hopeless, really. You really need something with a lot more detail, where any differences are a lot more obvious.

Did you find any difference?

I can't see any, and if you shot these RAW there won't be any difference because the RAW image is unaffected by some settings, including sharpness.

It was in raw and that answers my question.

An image saved in RAW is almost directly taken from the sensor. No in-camera processing occurs, that's for you to do later in post processing.

In-camera processing, sharpness, contrast, etc., is only applied to files saved as JPG's.
