K5 and Vivitar 3500

I was looking at that page earlier John and 6 - 9V should be ok but I thought I'd ask in the hope that someone else may have risked a current Pentax with the 3500!

Be careful because Vivitar sourced their guns from various manufacturers and the same model number can have a very different trigger voltage. The safe way is to measure it with a voltmeter. Or simply use a modern flashgun!

You could use a radio trigger, which will not require the gun to be mounted on the camera.
From memory, the 3500 had a nice macro metering kit.
