K5 and exposure compensation

Hi folks,

I have the K5 set to shoot at -1.5 exposure. The camera shows me on the top plate that it is adjusted to -1.5, and when l press the info button, it likewise shows me it is shooting at -1.5.

The problem appears to occur when l download the image onto the computer in Lightroom - the image never shows that it has been shot at -.1.5. More often than not it is showing within Lightroom an exposure value in the plus range.

Am l doing something wrong with the K5, or is Lightroom overriding the K5 settings and doing what it pleases. I should mention here that l always shoot RAW.

Is it possible that you are adding + ev during the import stage? You can change settings there, and they stay there until you unchange them. That's caught me out more than once, but usually the only thing I change its the import location. Still annoying though when you import a ton of photos to the wrong place.

I think you'll find that lightroom is adjusting *into* the plus range. Try two shots, one at 0, one at -1.5 (maybe another at +0.5 just for the hell of it) and see how lightroom reacts.

Thanks for the input. It suddenly occurred to me that l may have Lightroom set to default add a preset, and sure enough l had. So disabled that - but didn't seem to make a jot of difference.

Therefore took a series of shots on same settings, except for the exposure adjustment, and the following is the result :

Adjustment Lightroon

- 1.5 + 1.5
0 0
+1 0
+0.5 0
- 0.5 + 0.55

I have looked and looked at the Lightroom download screen, but can find nothing to suggest that Lightroom is adding or subtracting to the exposure compensation l have dialled into the K5.

Me, l'm baffled ( but that's normally quite easily done anyway).

Any ideas ?

Sorry, tab doesn't seem to work.

The Lightroom readings should be :

+ 1.5
0
0
0
+ 0.55
