K3iii

Certainly the more I use the K3iii the more I'm impressed with the focusing, its certainly much much better than we Pentaxians have had before.

The shot below was K3iii + Pentax 24 - 70, I got caught out, i.e not ready and not really paying attention the camera was switched off and wrist strapped to my left hand ( not my shooting hand ) the lens cap was on and the hood was fixed the wrong way round.

The mountain biker appeared out of the blue, swapped hands, cap off, switch the camera on, the lens nailed the focus exceedingly quickly and I managed 3 shots before the biker landed.

Nicely caught Chris - glad you're enjoying your K3iii, it does seem an impressive camera

Excellent shot - and impressively quick reaction from you as well as the camera!

Was that the only in-focus shot of the 3 you took, or were all in focus? Were they single shot mode or multi-shot with tracking? How much did the lens contribute to the speed and accuracy of focus? Questions, questions, questions... (What I'm really wondering is whether it would still be as impressive if it were a DA*300mm + TC and a bird in flight.)

All 3 were in focus Steve, AFC - 1/500 sec - F5.6 @ 65mm multi shot with tracking ( the central 12 points used )

Not had the chance to try BIF yet, but hope to soon with both the 70 - 200 and 150 - 450, I don't have a TC, prefer to crop if required
