Show it to the Americans - they might want to fit a K3iii + 150-450 in their U2s!

Cracking effort that Chris.
I've found shooting airliners at 30,000' + (not literally!) is a good test of the resolution and overall quality of a telephoto lens. Even more telling when you crop to over 100%.
5/5 for that combo i'd say.

Nice. Looks like a 787 Dreamliner to me. The swept wingtips and saw-edge on the back of the engines are the clues.

Like this!
Surprising how much heavier a camera and a lens is when you point it directly up!
There is an app for your phone that can track the aircraft above you and it'll say the name of the aircraft operator, type of plane, altitude etc. I have a paid version of something similar called Virtual Radar that's a paid service for tracking military aircraft

Don't know the exact height of the aircraft or type, although it could be a B767, similar flights go overhead at anything between 30,000 and 38,000 feet looking on ADSB taking the lower figure the image is pretty good with the K3iii and the 150 - 450.
Exposure was 1/500 sec @ 380mm ( equiv 587mm with the crop factor ) F5.6 handheld at 200 iso, the image is SOOC and the 2nd a 160% crop.
