That seems to be the price where the branches stock the camera, but the lens is the STD 18-55mm WR because Pentax do not make a 14-42mm!
Also, they have a 2yr warranty!

Well, went back this morning to the local Curry's branch in Hayes and played with the demo unit -> looked and felt fine, so decided to buy it. Then, a helpful Sikh gentleman came over to assist, and found a new, unopened, boxed unit in stock and (with some trouble!) got that for me.
Could not open the box until after I bought it, but that one is fine as well - so a result .
Also, they appear to have some 35mm F2.4 DA and 55-200 WR lenses for sale as well, but did not want either of those - although some others might and so it could be worth enquiring about those in your local branch if you are interested!
So, the K-R and the 18-55WR from the K-30 (I already have the 18-135WR!) should be in the Classified section of the forum in the very near future as I won't need either of those!
And, finally, my thanks to Mr Frosty for the lead on this (relative!) bargain

Could be - but did not look very closely as I was not interested.

there ARE 'mistakes ' made-- when I bought my 6x7 outfit in November 1980 I ordered the 'Ordinary' 75mm f4.5 lens with the 105 and the 200mm then when I opened the boxes some poor stock-room boy had put in the 75mm f4.5 SHIFT lens for £ 175- 00 --- well, i had a 'memory lapse; so forgot to tell them ----
Been a member of Pentax Club since the Ron Spillman era! Got COMPUTERISED at last - DIGITISED?

When I was a kid, I had a Praktika IVB (I think) which did not have an instant return mirror (IRM), and I sent it in for the free (!) annual service offered by the supplier! What came back was a Praktika VB which did have an IRM - needless to say I was delighted, until I got a letter asking for that one back and my own unit was then returned to me.there ARE 'mistakes ' made-- when I bought my 6x7 outfit in November 1980 I ordered the 'Ordinary' 75mm f4.5 lens with the 105 and the 200mm then when I opened the boxes some poor stock-room boy had put in the 75mm f4.5 SHIFT lens for £ 175- 00 --- well, i had a 'memory lapse; so forgot to tell them ----

I knew that was going to happen - the only question was whether I should wait, but then miss the opportunity as there as only 1 or 2 units (if any!) at each branch. Down to £349!!
Dave.
NB - same thing happened with the Curry's K-R sell-off last year when someone on the forum bagged one for about £225 in similar circumstances, but I bought a good one off a forum member for about £50 more.
PS : The K-R now for sale with the arrival of the K-30 - enquiries welcome as it has been my "holiday" camera (a lot lighter than the K-5!) for the last year or so, so not had a lot of use! Will post details in the Classifieds when I get time.

I saw them selling off their last few panasonic g3 for £199 a few weeks ago. It is the only Pentax camera they have had in this store and for Pentax I hope they replace it with another model because I got into Pentax by picking up a K30 and it felt just perfect.
