K3 settings

My k3 is finally in and I'm going through the settings.

Just to clarify my understanding:
When shooting in raw none of the camera 'processing' settings apply, such as high iso noise reduction and lens corrections? So I can just turn them all off?

The only 2 I can think that do apply are the AA filter and shake reduction.

Am I on the correct track?

What do you guys have your settings like?

It's worth thinking about these settings even if you shoot RAW as you can set the second card slot to automatically record the JPEG equivalent image and this will be affected. I don't have my K-3 with me (working away from home at present) and can't remember all the settings, but one which is always set is the 'Natural' colour setting. I think I have lens corrections turned on as this can help with reduced processing. I have the high ISO Noise reduction set to 'Low'.

I havent decided which setting to use for the second card slot yet. I think reading if you use anything other than sequential it will slow down the buffer write. I do like the idea of having a copy of all images in case a card decides to break.

Am i correct in thinking that all the other camera settings dont apply to raw?

Yes, that's correct. Lens corrections, shadow/highlight settings are only stored in the RAW metadata ... They will be applied if you open the file in Pentax Digital Camera Utility, but not in any other software. There's no point in having these setting active unless creating jpegs on the camera .. They will slow down the time it takes to display the lcd review image. AFAIK noise reduction is the same .. Only applies to jpegs.
