Ive never owned a grip before but wanted to give one a go to see if it made shooting with heavier lenses more comfortable. (shooting with a 50-135 always felt like the camera wanted to pivot forward and to the left out of my hand)

I saw on here the DSTE grip got good reviews so have finally got one. Well why didnt i do that sooner! It feels soo much better with the grip against your palm and somewhere for your little finger to grip onto. The camera actually feels lighter with the grip.

Does the pentax grips buttons, dials and plastic/rubber have an identical feel to the cameras? Is there any bad points to the original grip? (i read that someone thought the battery trays weren't the best)

Also is there a way to make the camera show a combined remaining battery indicator instead of just the one being used?

The Pentax Grip is better in pretty much all areas but the DSTE is not too far behind, rubber thumb wheels would make a lot of difference here, The Pentax, costs a bomb and not worth it IMHO unless your'e getting free as part of a deal, Had my DSTE for a few months now with zero problems...
