K3 AF points

Now the K3 has three af points which are designed to detect the light flux of an F2.8 lens. So if using an f2.8 or larger aperture lens I take it these are the best af points to use, but is it better to use these or the other af points for say f4 or f5.6 lens?

Any ideas?

The AF works great for me, very accurate in low light too. Best AF I've had on any DSLR by a mile.

I haven't used any of the tracking modes as I don't tend to do this kind of photography.

K-3 is a superb camera, as I found out this weekend when shooting a professional cycle event with the K-3 and the K-5IIs. The results from the K-3 were a league ahead of those with the K-5IIs, the more I use this camera the more impressed I am.

Sorry if that's strayed a bit off topic, but in essence what I'm saying is that the AF on the K-3 is very good, especially at wide apertures.

Presumably the 3 new f2.8 af spot sensors are designed to give a more accurate and/or faster autofocus when using fast lenses. 99% of the time I use spot focusing and was wondering if the 3 f2.8 spots are best for fast lenses then are they also best for slower lenses or are the other ones better for slower lenses, or is there no difference.

Where did this information come from? I can't find it in my operators manual?

Vic.. It's not new, the K5II had 1 of these af points, the K3 has 3. You can find details on the Ricoh Pentax website.

Question is are these f2.8 af points as good, better or the same as the standard af points when a slower lens is on.
