It's confusingly written but yes it does seem that they're doing the three for £849.

Worth entering the phrase 'Bristol cameras review' into Google before jumping.

Reviews on the Internet are of course sometimes not what they seem to be, or hang around long after circumstances have changed, but even so if I were a prospective customer, I'd want to read them -- and come to my own view.

Checked with Bristol Cameras.

Yes, it is a package that includes the lens, but they'll substitute the grip for the lens at the same price!

Seems also that it's a 'week-end special deal', but they will honour the deal during the week as well.

Hmmm, according to Ricoh they are a Pentax Pro Centre.

Now that's put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Out of interest I just phoned and they wouldn't swap the lens for the grip

Left hand and right hand communication failure. When I phoned there were at least two male assistants in the shop; I spoke to the younger one (based on his voice). But...

If 'you' bought their lens based package, then sold the lens and bought the grip, would it be a good deal still?

Meanwhile, at SRS....

Had already thought of that but realistically the 35mm is only worth £75 (ish) so Bristol cameras is £849 plus £140 for the grip minus £75 back on the lens = £914. SRS = £939.

Sometimes it's worth the extra £25 for the service and backup of a decent supplier.

Had it been the grip instead of the lens then £90 is possibly a different story but if they have 2 staff in the shop and neither knows what the other is agreeing to then perhaps they are best avoided anyway.

OTOH £849-£75 = K-3 body + FLU card for £774 - thought of in those terms it might be worth it?

The price is getting down towards the level when I might just consider buying - and selling on the K-5 & K-R (unless my wife wants it - she might just), so the net cost would probably be around £350.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Just to clear things up :

Your question was: Hi, am interested in the K-3 (body only)/Flucard/35mm lens bundle for £849 but was wondering if I would be able to substitute the lens for the BG5 grip as they are the same price and I already have the lens. Many thanks.

Answer is: Hi, I am afraid the Pentax K-3 promotion with the free 35mm lens is now finished unfortunately. The current K-3 promotion is the free 16GB Flu card. The £849 price is a weekend price on this item but we can honor this price during the week as well, just pop into the comments box that you have seen it at the £849 weekend price and we can refund the difference back onto your card.

So they obviously got that mixed up at the weekend.

So does this mean they will refund £139 out of £849??? O.O Or I got it wrong?

No, the price on the web site is now £895 ... so they will refund £46 back to your card (which is the difference between their £849 weekend price and the present £895 price)
