The detail in the ISO3200 and 6400 shots is very good, it makes me want to upgrade as well. However, I think it would be best to leave a one product gap and see what the K30 or even K3 offer in the future.

I left a product gap as well before upgrading from my DS to the K20D. The detail in the ISO3200 and 6400 shots is very good, it makes me want to upgrade as well. However, I think it would be best to leave a one product gap and see what the K30 or even K3 offer in the future.
If I allready had a K10 I wouldn't upgrade, but now that I went from the DS to the K20D I am very glad I did spend the extra money to get it.
As for the review, they are right about the live view. To me it is completely useless. It reacts very slow and when you want to focus it flips down the mirror first to focus and then the mirror flips up again.
I allso tried the digital preview, in this mode it takes a test picture. Not really usefull for me as well.
In the end I went back to the optical DOF preview which works best for me...

Annoyingly I seem to be adding things I want to buy to the list faster than my finances allow me to clear them from the other end.
My shopping list now includes:
- Nikon Coolscan 5000 (the next one up from the 5ED)
- DA 55-300 (with airshows approaching, this is getting to be a priority)
- 16-50 (F2.8 indoors would be very handy, as much for AF speed as anything)
... and the '20, of course, now.
At this rate, it'll probably be the '30.
