k20d dust removal

k20d dust removal..
I have looked at the manual,it does not state whether a lense should be attached when this is done.
Also is the setup same for sensor cleaning.

The K20 dust removal feature (where the sensor vibrates and the dust falls off) is done with the lens attached normally. The dust falls onto a pad below the sensor I think.

Actual sensor cleaning, with a pad or brush etc, obviously needs the lens to be removed, and the mirror needs to go up to access the sensor. Ensure there's plenty of life in your battery if you attempt this - if the camera turns itself off, the mirror will come back down.

Dust removal and sensor cleaning are essentially the same thing, on my K20 I have never had to resort to wet sensor cleaning and I have the dust removal set to activate every time the camera is switched on
