K20D and Infra Red

Anybody tested it yet? Do I still need to keep my *istD?

I haven't tested it myself, but from what I read on dpreview, one of the posters there indicated that it would be in the same line of the K10D. So long exposures for nice and spooky IR, but no way hand held. Best hang onto your *istD if you want hand held IR.

I hope I'll have the chance to test myself this WE, if so I'll post my findings if still required.

Can you do any infrared flash photography? ie. does a flash emit any infrared radiation, if you used it on full power with a fast lens?

Some flashes do, unless the manufacturer filters it out.

The Pentax Nocta, from the Spotmatic era, was such a flash. It was covered with an opaque IR filter so no light could be seen. The special 300mm lens and electronic viewfinder meant that covert photography could be undertaken. The screen provided showed the image in pale shimmery green....the picture itself was shot on IR film.
