K110D Firmware Update Problems

Posted 19/06/2007 - 21:58 Link
After dragging the update software onto my memory card, and removing the USB cable from my computer, I turned on my camera while holding down the MENU button. But I only see the Version 1.0 text, and the camera proceeds directly into operation mode. I do not see "NOW LOADING" on the LCD screen. No updating of the firmware takes place.

Also, when using the FORMAT selection from the Setup Menu, the contents of the memory card are not erased.

Is anyone else experiencing problems installing the firmware update?

Thanks,
George Lazarette

The batteries are always the first thing to try.

Remove them from the camera, then insert a fresh set.

If that doesn't work, you're probably going to have to take it back to your dealer.

The firmware update has to be in the root of the SD card
(i.e. in D:, not DCIM100PENTX or wherever the images are stored)

Sorry if this is an obvious question but did you run the .exe file on the PC first to extract the .bin file – its only the .bin file which needs to be copied to the root of the memory card.
