Hi Gang.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before.
But My K10D has been playing up.......not all the time and its easily fixed when it happens,
But every now and then, when using the battery grip, the camera locks the mirror up after takin a shot.
I need then to take both batteries out.....put them back in,and it resets itself......and may not hapen again for ages....

Any ideas please..

Thanks..
Duncan

eactly what were your camera settings when that happened?
ChrisA discovered a glitch, when testing in a different thread last week...
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

You say it only happens when using the grip : Have you tried switching the grip and body batteries around.
Has the firmware been updated. I would re-install it anyway just to eliminate any corruption it may have.
Could be the grip is faulty but i am not sure how that could cause the mirror to lock up. :
Hope that helps

My glitch was that the mirror locked up before taking the shot (though after pressing the button!) not after, with long exposures and Shake Reduction on.

The shutter didn't open, (I took the lens off to have a look) and the battery needed removing and replacing to get the camera to reset itself. On replacing the battery and switching on, the shutter opened and closed, and thereafter the camera behaved normally.

No grip in my case.

With luck it's just a firmware issue. I imagine there is a bit of Microsoft code in there somewhere.

Does it at anytime it wants, no matter what setting it is set on....Programme / manual etc etc....

I'll try looking at the firmwear....
Thanks.....
