I just got my K10D today and I'm very happy with it. I updated the firmware to V1.10 and wonder if I can set the front dial to change f.stop and back dial to change the shutter speed in M mode. Does anyone know if that's possible?

Thanks.

I don't think it is. In the custom menu you can change the dials for many of the other modes, but not M.

You may be able to put all or most of the functions you want on the User mode though, but again, not if it's using M.
Please call me aj,

I use a Pentax K10D, on a MacBook with LightRoom (vers 1.3 + beta 2)

I tried this because it seems so much more intuitive to control the aperture at the front and the shutter speed at the back. I changed the settings for TV, P and AV before I realised that there was a yewning gap where the option to change manual mode should have been. I ended up changing them all back again and am just trying to get used to it. Maybe in the next firmware upgrade (not holding my breath or anything.)

Thanks for your reply. I hope Pentax will put this in the new firmware too. I'm still using MZ-S and sometimes I carry 2 cameras around. It will be a bit confusing when I swith between the two cameras.
