To answer your question - it depends on the type of dust
Some dust is stickier than other dust, and some of it will require a physical clean (the old fashioned way).
But compared to my ultra spotted *ist-D, the K10D is practically dust free!

Isn't that a bit like British Rail apologising for delays due to the wrong type of leaves on the track? To answer your question - it depends on the type of dust
I have had ONE stubborn bit of dust on the K10D sensor, I just took a cotton swab to it, it got rid of the dust spot ok but now my sensor is covered in ear wax

I had a few large spots of dust on the sensor since the day I got my K10D. Been using the dust removal feature about a dozen times, but they just wont go. So I locked up the mirror and blew in some air and the image is now spotless.
I can certainly hear and feel the mechanism shake, but has anyone actually experienced any worthwhile effects of the dust removal system? It didn't seem to do much in my case.
Exactly my experience, except that it was just one horrible big speck.I had a few large spots of dust on the sensor since the day I got my K10D. Bought a Rocket Blower:

which sorted it out a treat.

I had some dust, but got the sensor to do a couple of extra cleaning cycles and that sorted it. If the stick pad that holds the dust is at the bottom of the camera you probably need to hold the camera level when you do it, or the dust will fall onto the back of the lens (if the camera is benig held lens-down!)
