it seems pentax canada and vistek(which had been taking pre-orders) have pulled thier web pages of the d10 down.....
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Delayed in the UK too

Quote:
30/10/06 - Latest news from Pentax UK - We are now looking at early December delivery. Sad news, I know, but we will be getting hold of a large number of stock from the first UK delivery.
Hey ho. As expected I suppose... but more time to get to grips with SilkyPix DS3 in the meantime

Ffordes have listed the K10D as just in...strange as everybody is saying end of November early December.

Do they? Couldn't see it on the website. Why don't you pop up there and have a look.

Here's the link Daniel,
https://secure.ffordes.com/Shop/Store/StockList.asp?Type=new&Sub=1&code=DC&subcode=PD

It's about a 3hour drive up the A9 to Inverness from Fife but I will give them a call in the morning, I suspect they are late onto the pre-order bandwagon and are testing the water sort of.

Now if they say they physically have them I'll be pretty peaved (I may have a long drive instead of going to the footie) as I've pre-ordered elswhere.
Cheers
Brian.

Oh yeah! Took me ages to find that - from their home page, I went to Digital SLR's, which doesn't show any Pentax links. So then I tried 'New Equipment', then 'Pentax', and that didn't have them. If you're going to have brands on there, at least show things by that brand, in that section. Why have them just under 'Digital Cameras'?

I'm guessing they don't actually have them - did you give them a ring, or just go to football?

Who won?

Perhaps the delay is because they're having to recall their K10D brochure, just read through it here: http://www.pentax.co.uk/downloads/photo/uk/K10D/catalog_K10D_GB.pdf.

Particularly like the section on Limited Lenses: "These were compromised of high-quality lenses with fixed focal lengths"

and the heading "WE HAVE DEVELOPED A RESISTANCE TO AGAINST THE NATURAL ENEMIES OF BRILLIANT PHOTOS"

If they want a proof writer, I'm more than happy to do it for the sum of 1, no 2 K10D's, with grips, and spare batteries. Ooh, and a few SD cards. And some of those new DA* lenses.

Daniel,

Your quotes really take me back to the early 60's when Japanese companies began exporting to English speaking countries. I wish I had kept those instructions - literal translations, and really cute. The game was to read between the lines and figure out what was actually meant.

Kinda figured that with 40+ years of experience though.......

Called Ffordes this morning, not in stock just a new listing, just what I thought the answer would be.
Cheers
