Nothing wrong with pictures of Owls - they have wonderfully expressive faces.

Oh no, not another owl shot...
Haha, only kidding!
The first one is fantastic! Maybe I should get one of the Pentax primes... and an owl... and a K10D...
The sharpness is really unbelievable as your 100% crop shows (can't be a jpg then )
The second one is good as well but it pales (pardon the pun) next to the other one...

Owls can be very wise.
We were at an owl sanctuary near Penrith and brother-in-law Mark saw a snowy owl that was quite delightful. "It's a pity it's against that white wall," he said.
The owl looked up, trundled away from the white wall, stood in front of some foliage and posed. Amazing.

Owls, pigeons, and parrots have a larger amygdala than other birds, which means they have a greater capacity to learn. Other birds do everything by instinct, apparently.Owls can be very wise.

But I hadn't realised quite how much these birds can learn. This owl needs an agent.

Here's a bit of a cliched shot, one of those "Oh no, not again" type, but here it is anyway...
K10D FA50mm 1.4 @ f/2.8 1/90s ISO100
The detail at 100% never fails to amaze me...
And another, just cos I like this one.
