K100D SUPER STARTING PROBLEM

My K100d super is misbehaving! When I switch it on the LCD works, menus etc, but makes a clicking noise and does not fire. It also makes a thump which sounds like the sensor cleaner. If I set the sensor cleaner going it vibrates until I switch off, but on turning camera back on the same problem again - clicking noise, small thump and no firing! Can anybody help please? Michael

Would it be worth trying a reset via the set up menu?
