does anybody know if i can adjust the flash strength of this camera?

becaues i've digged aroudn teh menu and looksed at the manual and it doesn't seem like they do

the reason i ask is that when taking portraits of people on a sunny day, i need to meter the sunny background and use the in-built flash to make sure the subjects are not under-exposed

but when i used the flsh, the subjects always turn out to be overexposed and white looking

what does flash compensaation do anyway? i think it would just create a general underexposure in teh whole image and not fix my problem

cheers fellas

Why not just try it and see what happens?

The flash compensation should reduce the output of the flash which would stop your foreground being over-exposed. You could also move your subject slightly further away.

Or cheat and use the program intended for fill flash

Yes, the K100D certainly does have that feature. I stumbled on it in the K100D manual's index under Flash Compensation (of all places) which then referred me to page 154. You will then find the appropriate setting in the Rec. Mode setting.

Believe it or not, I easily found that answer right here in this very post.
