My K100D has started to absolutely eat batteries. Thought it was a duff set of rechargeable at first. but when I used ordinary batteries instead, it got through them much faster than it used to.

Any ideas?

I used to have the ist DL and that would gobble up alkaline but was fine with Nimh rechargeable batteries. Have you another set you can try?

I used to use rechargeables in mine till they suddenly started running down. If I fit Lithium AAs in it they still last ages. I think it's something to do with the circuitry that tells when I batteries flat rather than using more juice. Mines not happy with NIMH any more it's one of the excuses I used to justify upgrading to the K7. If I could have held out another 6 months the upgrade could have been a K5 for the same price.

I had exactly the same experience with a K-x. It may well be worth trying a set of Lithium AAs.

I had the same problems with mine, a set of Enerloop re-chargables did the trick, any other types and it would soon show low battery once again. I seem to recall there were a number of threads about this a few years back.
