If it's in warranty, send it in for repair.
If it's out of warranty, send it in for repair.
Simple really.
Quite so, but two further points:If it's in warranty, send it in for repair.
If it's out of warranty, send it in for repair.
Simple really.
1 If you bought it in Europe, it should, by EU law, be warranted for two years.
2 If you can't get it repaired free under warranty, and if you are in the UK, many people recommend Harrow Technical.

Pentax UK seems to send most repairs to Germany nowadays.
It's always useful to know what country people live in, and you can amend your profile (top of page) to show this.

Thanks both this does mean being without its use for a while
I'm from Bedford and live in southwest London term-time (and bought my Pentax here, of course) so there oughtn't be any problem with warranty. I'll put that on my profile.
I can't see why they mightn't repair it - it hasn't been misused in any way and is only a few months old.

My K100D has been perfect for months! Now, the autofocus/manual focus switch is jammed at MF.
In spite of this, the AF drive shaft is still protruding, and AF is fully operational.
The lens release button retracts the drive shaft as normal, but the switch WILL NOT MOVE.
I don't know how it happened - the camera had a heavy night on Friday, but nothing happened to make me think there was anything wrong until I got the camera out again yesterday.
Is this a known problem? What do I do?
Thanks!
Jonathan
