K10 shake reduction

How well does the shake reduction of the K10 work?
Will it be effective when shooting out of a moving vehicle?

This weekend I was at a "Keep Them Rolling" meeting for WW-II vehicles and I had the chance to ride with someone in a '42 Willys Jeep.
These things have quite a bouncy ride and even with at 16mm it was very difficult to get a good shot even at high shutter speeds. Will the K10 shake reduction help in such a situation or would one need a real gyro stabilizer which cost about 1600 US$ and only run 3 hours off a huge battery pack...

I doubt that it would make much difference. SR is intended to compensate for small movements in hand shake and only in the vertical plane. I would imagine you'd need high shutter speeds (and therefore fast glass) and/or a stabilisation system as you mentioned.

Well, in the horizontal [b]and[b/] vertical plane - but not in the front-to-back plane. The SR can even handle rotational movement... which is pretty neat.

I did see a test with the camera sitting on the bonnet of a petrol sit-on lawnmower Pretty excellent results actually.

You may just away with it at 16mm. It's been excellent for handheld shots in low light for me
