Can't help with the charging time but CameraNu have a Hahnel charger that is also 12V - http://tinyurl.com/2dvmvc
Edit - they also have the K20D at the cheapest price in NL at the mo I believe.

Real sine inverters are expensive... For a battery charger it might not be a problem but I am reluctant to use those cheap inverters.

Depends on the charger and the state of the battery. I'm not sure how long it takes with the original charger since it stops charging automatically (when I'm not in the room!). Not more than a few hours anyway.What is the charging time for the Li-ION batteries used in the K10 and K20?
