K10 image 4991

So after having a couple of beers in Perth last night with Womble (Kris Lockyear), I was motivated to get out with a MF lens. I popped out this morning with the K10 and the SMC-A 70-210 f/4. Yet again the K10 shows its true qualities and colour rendition. I also feel that getting correct exposure is somewhat more critical with a CCD sensor than CMOS though can't put my finger on the reason.

Gary, watch yourself hanging aroiund with Kris. He'll have you trawling the local bazaars and second hand shops for battered Zeiss Ikons and Agfa Retinettes. Then you'll have to find a source for those strange little metal cartons containing reels of light-sensitive celluloid...who knows where it'll all end?
Nice shot by the way taked on my favourite camera. That's what I call a classic bit of photographic hardware! Oh, you're right about exposure with the K10 there's less latitude and underexposure is rife but when you get it right... By comparison the K5 is almost laughably easy to use.
(Please give him my best wishes and tell him that (a) my outside tap froze again last night and (b) he needs to be careful in the heat: we're not used to it.)

I found a purveyor of film before I met up with Gary (on Sterling Street near Northbridge in Perth) but sadly no funny bazaars selling old film cameras. Yesterday was spent on Rottnest Island where I finished a roll of Ektar 100 and a 120 roll of Tri-X. Today I flew to Sydney. I'll be here until Weds. Not sure if I'll find a purveyor of old cameras here either but I'll try.
