K10 Electronic Interfaces

I am in the throws of deciding that a K10D is the camera for me to purchase as my "coming of age" (60) present from the wife. Having a great interest in virtually anything electronic I like to push the limits on almost everything I purchase. Consequently I wonder if anyone here as identified the various interface connections and specifications for such things as shutter release and power supply. Having shutter release connections for the CS205 Cable Switch, IR release and connection on the battery grip opens up all sorts of opportunities for visual, sound or motion triggering of the shutter although it looks as if connector sourcing might be a problem for homebrew solutions. If it hasn't already been done then I may well be the guinea pig!

I've documented the CS205 interface elsewhere on here, and also the Infra-Red trigger sequence.
I think the power supply for the K10D is special - at least the connector is - and you'd be wise to get the real thing

As far as CS205 and IR - there's absolutely no problem doing DIY

Also, there's USB remote control of the K10D using the Pentax software

The CS205 connection is simply a 2.5mm stereo jack plug. A closed circuit between tip and ground will fire the shutter, between ring and ground will activate the autofocus.

So any circuit which closes a contact, either electronically or physically, should be able to be used to trigger the shutter and/or activate autofocus.

Many thanks for the warm welcome and valued information .... now to purchase a camera and be able to put to use some respectable lenses I stored away when I stopped using my P30 camera!

Before this tread disappears even further into oblivion, does anyone know what type of plug is used with the power pack socket on the Pentax AF540FGZ flash units - name, brand, or source?

If anyone has the TR Power Pack III, a couple of good images of that plug would be very helpful as well.

I think this plug is "Pentax original", so you can't find it in Radio Shack.
Does anyone know pinout of the plug, or can measure with multimeter?
