K10 CARD READER PROBLEM - "No card in camera"

I`ve returned my K10d under guarantee (in a big huff) because using my Fujifilm 2GB SD card and many others also tried in the shop, I keep on getting the same message as above - "No card in camera".

Was there an easier answer to this rather than wait for Pentax to fix it for me?

Am I alone ? !

I was hoping my first note onto the forum would have been bearing better news !!

An unusual problem, I think.

I've used several SD and SDHC cards without problems.

Bad luck.

Did you try reformatting the card(s) in the camera? Did the cards themselves work in other cameras?

I had this problem when I first got my K10D.

I had to put the card in 2 or 3 times and then it was fine so wonder if the contacts just take a little bedding in :

I had this problem on a few cards, reset the camera to default settings and it worked.

Sorry I was getting 'memory card full' error.
