k10 batteries

Hi i would just like to talk about batteries.I know the pentax official ones cost a bit of money £49 in some places.I wondered if anyone has used compatibles or should i stick to the original ones.I also would like to know if you buy a third party one will the official battery charger charge them is it safe? thanks for any replies

If you do a forum search you will find several threads on this subject.

Personally I stick to the originals, which I have found for as little as £32, but many others buy a variety of alternatives.

The alternatives are generally a slightly lower specification than the Pentax ones.

I have bought a Uniross replacement and it works just as well as the original - I use it with the official Pentax charger.

I would only buy a 'branded' battery rather than one of those cheapo £5 ebay ones (I'm still a snob! ). Energizer also do a replacement, both this and the Uniross one can be bought for around £15 each.

I wish that I had a pound for every 'posting' there has been on this topic

Totally agree with 7dayshop. Have used their batteries in my K10D and Panasonic FZ8. Also my son uses them in his Canon 400D.

And me never let me down
