K-r Which Lens Hood?

I picked up a PH-RBC52 lens hood, but it doesn't seem to fit my K-r, so is it me, or is it the wrong hood???

Which lens do you need a hood for? It is the lens which affects which hood you need, not the camera. Did the lens not come with a hood? Most Pentax lenses come with a hood standard.

According to the blurb the PH-RBC52 is for a PENTAX DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR Lens

I believe the kit lens supplies with the K-r is the DAL. I think this uses PH-RBA 52mm, but please check.

Assuming that's the one you want, there are lots of alternatives available on ebay. Link.

Check what they say on the hood as a manufacturer's name though. Some of these hoods have shall we say euphemistic names. eg. this different larger hood that's easier to see.

Sorry, should have said the lens is a DA L 1:3.5 - 5.6 18-55mm AL. Thanks for your help so far!
