K-r dial settings, question ...

My K-r settings dial is always set to the 'auto pict' setting. However, whenever I switch on the camera and looking at the info screen, in the top left corner I always see the 'macro auto pict' settings icon.

By going through each dial setting manually, I see the correct picture for each mode. When I return to the 'auto pict' mode I still see the macro icon. Is this normal?

I've just checked my k-r and when set to auto pict - the Maro icon shows with auto pict written next to it.

So I would assume that this is normal.

Hope that helps

Kind regards

Depends on where you point the camera the icon will change as the camera evaluates the scene.

Charlotte and geordie01. Muchly thankings to you both, you've made a happy man very old, that doesn't sound right. Oh! Never mind.

My K-x does the same in Auto Pic mode. Depending on what is in view when I half-press the shutter button, it shows macro, distant, night settings etc.

I queried the separate macro setting on the wheel some months ago. Concluded that it made a marginal difference to f-stop and shutter speed, but none to close focussing minimum.
