K-m and 0-ME53

Thanks Stefan, I thought that should be the case.
The idea was a small surprise present for my daughter at Christmas (providing she doesn't read this post ). I rarely see her K-m now so wouldn't have the opportunity to sneakily try my 0-ME53 on her K-m to check.
I'll go ahead and order one from Chris

Since you've the K-7 you can of course try to fit that standard eye-piece on the K-m if that fits you know for sure.
You can of course also ask Chris if he knows or wants to try it out

Yes that's the problem Stefan, unfortunately I can't easily get my hands on the K-m because it's 40 odd miles (65Km) away where my daughter lives.
I have dropped Chris a PM about it but I guess he is pretty busy at the moment with the shop move and run up to Christmas etc.
I think your link to pentax.com is good enough, I'll order one from SRS tomorrow. Thanks for your help

If you can wait till next week, then my uncle should have his K-X and I can try if the K10D eye-piece fit.
But I believe there are some users here with the K-M and K20D who can try as well.

Thank you Huw.
How already tried the camera a bit?
Have played a lot with the KX of my uncle already and it's a nice little camera.
I do find it hard to remove the eyecup compared to the K10D though

Yes I played around a bit with the K-m when she got back in May. I think is a great little package. Very nice handling, solid build for an entry level camera and capable of taking great images (lets face it most D-SLRs are)
Yes the standard eye cup doesn't come off that easily, it clips in position rather than sliding off. But the 0-ME53 slides on and off in the normal way

I am pretty sure all Pentax SLRs/dSLRs have had the same sized viewfinder fitting ever since the M-series cameras came in. The Spotmatics (and, I think but I am not sure, the K-series cameras) had a slightly different size. This explains why things like the refconverter-A go for so much on ebay.
Cheers, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

It is an accessory that attaches to the eyepiece. It magnifies the viewfinder by 1.2 times to make manual focusing easier, or viewing details easier.
The downside is that it makes it harder to see the whole frame and LED information at once without moving your eye around. Also the viewfnder is very slightly darker. You don't get something for nothing.
