K-7 with hot pixels

Whilst out on an early morning wander with my K-7 at the weekend I snapped a series of long exposures. When I looked a the fruit of my sleep deprived labour any images that were taken with a time span of 1.5 minutes or greater were peppered with blue & red pixels, before I start banging on the doors of the Pentax warranty repair centre, can this fault be rectified by any other method?
