Apparently pre production firmware but would be interested to know what K20D users think compared to what they are getting now.

Very impressive if it's with no noise reduction.

Is it from a RAW or JPEG? Any NR applied at all?

Here is a crop from a JPEG direct from my K20D.
ISO1600 highest quality JPEG without any noise reduction (turned off in custom menu).
I used the lossless crop option in Irfanview to crop the image without quality loss.

I find the K20D allready very good in the noise department. The deciding factor will be how the two camera's perform in low light/high iso performance. Both the K-7 picture above and my K20D picture were shot in daylight which allready reduces the amount of noise. (less light hitting the sensor = more noise)
But side by side the K-7 has the edge on noise control in my opinion but we don't know which settings were used on the K-7.

same shot as above but with noise reduction set to "weak" (level 3 in the custom settings for high iso noise reduction)

Mike could you simply make a link please to the photo the PU site is then a bit more easier to navigate. Also turn the photo will you

The noise looks weaker, certainly the coloured noise so if this real without NR it ould be great. I wander how it is with iso3200, it might pull it off.

I think it would also be worth while to see with ISO 100, 20 and/or 400 to compare how much detail is lost with the noise reduction.
