I just fired off in machine gin mode until the buffer filled up at ISO80. Took 25 DNGs. Form hitting the shutter button it took 26 seconds to write to a Class 10 SDHC Card and 30 seconds to write to a Class 6

both cards were Ultima Pro.

the cards are faster than rated. The C10 seems to hit around 20MB/s. From this (with a bit of spreadsheet work) it would appear that there is around 500MB of buffer cache in the K5 (assuming DNG sizes of 22.5MB).

Not too shabby....

the DNGs were about 9.5Mb @ ISO 80 ( lenscap o )

@ ISO 51200 they can over 30Mb

in that case the cards are only just up to spec.... wow. So that would also imply 256MB of cache. Fair enough.

I'll try again and use 51200 with the cap off and see how many and how long! .... hang on .....

hmmmm - this time it took 22 before before the buffer filled up and took 52 seconds to write to card. Most DNGs were around 28.5Mb

using the latest firmware I noticed that I can take about 25 RAW+ in 4star before the camera needs about 20sec to write all on the card.
Kind regards
