K-5 LCD screen problem

Hi there,

I bought a K-5 a few weeks ago and have been getting on OK and learning my way round it. However, yesterday, it was fine in the morning and when I put it away but when I went to use it in the afternoon, I couldn't get info to display on the LCD panel on the top. There is some info on the monitor on the back but I can't change any settings (ISO, aperture, shutter speed etc.)

All that appears on the top panel is the bar to show me that the battery is fully charged, a flashing F-- on the left of the screen and the numbers 1490 at the bottom right.
On the back monitor, I have got a constantly flashing F--, and a 200 ISO (which is how I had it set before this happened.)

Have I locked something somehow? I've tried to solve this using the manual for help but having no luck at all. I would appreciate any help if someone can advise me what to do as I can't use it all at the moment.I'm a bit of a newbie so I'm sorry if I'm being really thick!
Very many thanks

Have you tried taking the battery out?

Thanks Ken,

Yes I tried that several times yesterday and again today. It isn't making a difference.

It's to do with the lens and it's aperture setting. Take the lens off and on a couple of times to 'clean' the contacts, and/or check that the aperture ring (if the lens has one) hasn't been turned away from 'A'.

Thankyou John,

I've done that and it's now working perfectly! I really appreciate your help.
